Growing family business Geoff Amos Coaches recruit.
"FROM LITTLE ACORNS, BIG TREES GROW!" A well used phrase, and one that fits Geoff Amos Coaches well. Founded in 1954 by the late Mr Geoff Amos with one vehicle and one daily contract to transport staff from villages in the area to the giant GEC plant in Rugby, the company has grown over the years to become one of the largest and well respected family managed coach companies in the Midlands, with a fleet of 23 vehicles, ranging from double deckers used for school transport services through to the latest touring vehicles used for the UK and Continental operation.

Now managed by Mr Brian Amos and Mrs Shirley Smith, son and daughter respectively of the founder, the duo have adopted a "hands-on" approach to the business, being involved closely with the day to day running of the company.

The portfolio of customers is extensive, from organisers of local clubs and societies, through to many well-known national agencies, all of whom are willing to show their confidence in a well run and efficient company by placing repeat business time and again.

Whilst the company maintains a broad spread of business, it must be said that the "flagship" exercise is the Great Central Connexion, and hourly service between Banbury and Rugby six days a week. Highly commended in the 2001 Bus Industry Awards for its service to the rural communities it passes through, the Great Central Connexion is continually being evaluated by the company for any improvements.

All maintenance is carried out "in-house" by qualified fitters to the highest standards in modern well-equipped workshops.

The driving staff, 20 in number, with the occasional part timers, all have their own particular niche in driving duties, with a number of them being fully experience in UK and Continental tours; e.g. Scotland and many parts of the Continent, including France, Holland, Germany, Austria and Spain.

The company has always endeavoured to invest, whether it is new or second-hand vehicles, maintenance equipment or people. A bold step was taken during the summer of 2004 when two new Volvo B12B Sunsundegui coaches were purchased, and these will provide the "front line" vehicles for touring operations.
